Boys Meet RecapTerMeir Hill put together one the greatest performances in sectional history to spark Clayton to its first title as the Clippers outscored runner-up Audubon, 97-81.

Hill, a senior, won the 100 dash with a PR of 10.88, captured the long jump for the third straight year by leaping 23-6.50, a huge PR and two inches shy of the meet record, he won the 200 in 22.59, and he captured the triple jump with another PR of 44-6.75. Holy Smokes!! That's four wins and three PR's for Hill, who is one of the biggest stars in the state who not enough people know about. Well, now you know!!

While Hill was spectacular, he was far from a one-man show for Clayton.

Also picking up wins for the Clippers were the 4x100 (43.55) and 4x400 (3:30.06) relay teams, and junior Shane Thompson uncorked a big PR of 136-8 to win the discus. Justin Gibson added second-place finishes behind Hill in the 100, and 200.

Girls Meet Recap: When the Sharpe triplets moved from Paulsboro to Clayton there was little doubt that they'd deliver the first sectional title in school history for the Clippers.

And just as expected and just like they did when they were sophomores at Paulsboro in 2019, Arianna, Ariel, and Amirah simply owned this meet, leading Clayton to a 113-95 victory over a very well-rounded Schalick team.

With the Clayton boys also winning its first sectional title, Clayton, according to South Jersey T&F historian Reuben Frank,
became the first Gloucester County school to record a sectional sweep since Delsea in Group 2 in 2010, and they are the first to pull it off in Group 1 since Paulsboro in 1997.

The Sharpe triplets, led by Amirah's remarkable quad, swept the first three places in the 200 and 400 ,and combined for 82 of Clayton's 113 points, which all came in the track events.

Amirah was her usual scintillating-self, burning up the track for four victories!!!! Her quad consisted of first-place finishes in the 400 hurdles in 64.20, the 400 in 56.24, the 800 in 2:20.54, and the 200 in 25.37. What a performance!!!

Arianna won the 100 in 12.61, was second in the 200 in 25.53, and was second in the 400 in 57.35, and was a member of the victorious 4x400.

Ariel was third in the  200 (25.55) and the 400 (58.61), placed fourth in the 100 (12.99), and ran in the winning 4x400.

Sophomore Rafael Marshall also had a big meet for Clayton, winning the 100 hurdles in 15.85, and running on the winning 4x100 (51.64).
